Case Study

Thoughts about the Case Study Method

I really like the case method, because they are interesting narratives or problematic situations to solve or offer some suggestions. It also has the axis of everyone's participation in the discussions that teach new things to everyone, including the teacher. You can work individually, in pairs or in small groups, but the debates after the investigation are for the entire class group.

When working on a case, there is like a pact of association between the students and the teacher and the students among themselves - everyone is making an effort to understand the issue and reach a solution and it is a very nice process, apart from the role of learning and of skill development. It is a very effective learning that students will retain for a long time. The problem that is in the case allows them to have several perspectives on it. There is a lot of self-learning, due to the experiences that are happening with this method that the students like. Critical thinking is also developed a lot in research but more in debates. Most of the cases are real cases and being able to solve them practically - gives everyone a lot of satisfaction.
