Reflections on Problem Solving Method

Teaching with the problem-solving method has several important advantages:Develop direct self-learning skills. When the student is exposed to the problem solution for a period of time, he becomes a better learner and remembers the information better.By being in the process of solving and solving, the student can better integrate theory with practice - making the transition more effectively and smoothly.Improves intrinsic interest in the topic.

Yes, you can find some disadvantages than others, such as the cost of the curriculum, working with this method, requires high-quality teachers and facilitators with this special ability to motivate students to discover knowledge instead of simply receiving factors. But what can be achieved with this method in upper secondary education and above, the disadvantages are greatly rewarded, which as you can see are everyday problems more than anything, and therefore it is easier to bring students closer to learning. They can see with their own research and solutions, a theory that is in the curriculum in any subject, that with the process, "changed clothes" and now this theory helps solve a very practical, very public problem very close to their lives or the lives of their family members.

As a teacher-facilitator, my role is to monitor and guide students to apply the resources they have. One of the factors in guiding students with the problem-solving method is for teachers to learn that students create their specific objectives.

When implementing this method, the teacher has to invest a lot of time in the interaction between his students instead of standing in front of them telling them the things they need to know. But it is very important to remember that the simple fact that we use this method does not guarantee the students' learning or their understanding. The Problem Solving method will allow students to reach a very high level, only if and when they are involved in the real problems they have to solve.

It is very true that it is a lot of work to prepare the instructions and bring much deeper references and resources, but the results through this method are much more important and loved by the students themselves and by the teachers, than the investment that we are going to invest.
